Awards and Rewards

Congratulations abound for staff at West Winds Primary School!

First off, we are delighted to announce we won Best Nursery School at the Families First Awards. Not only that but Mrs Leary and Miss Murray were highly commended for their nominations. Well done to our Nursery Dream Team for such richly deserved recognition! We extend our thanks to West Winds Development Association for funding their tickets to attend the awards and to our school families for their continued support.  

As well as our Nursery success, Ms McCormick was accepted as a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, an accolade held by some of the most committed teachers and leaders who have shown a significant and sustained contribution to the teaching profession and their own professional development. This is a formal mark of Ms McCormick's achievements, skills and expertise as a teaching professional. She joins only 22 other Fellows of the Chartered College in Northern Ireland and around 1400 in the rest of the UK and worldwide.  

We have a truly excellent team at West Winds and it is lovely when we see our staff receive recognition for their commitment to our pupils and to their profession.
