Forest School Session with NIFSA
6th May 2021
Today P6 had a Forest School session with Danielle from Northern Ireland Forest School Association.
We started off being cartographers, learning how to make out own maps of our garden area. We hid toys in the garden and showed where they were with an x marks the spot on our map. We then had to go treasure hunting.
In our second session we looked at fire. We learned about the fire triangle and saw how to make a fire safely. Our challenge was to light a tea light and the reward was tea light melted marshmallows. We also learnt how important a wind break is!!
Finally, we got to enjoy hot juice made in a Kelly kettle. What an amazing day! We all loved it.
