P5 & P7 Trip to the Armagh Planetarium
P5 & P7 were lucky enough to be able to visit the Armagh Planetarium - and beyond! The bus journey to Armagh took approx. 1hr 20 minutes and a few boys and girls were a little green around the gills! When we arrived, the first thing we did was explore the centre. We were able to see some replica models of satellites, the International Space Station (ISS) and even got to touch a real meteorite - which happens to be 4.5 billion years old! We were then transported into outer space through a viewing in the digital theatre where we learned about constellations, the solar system and even got to ride a space coaster!
After all that excitement, we were then given the task of designing, building and launching our own rockets! All the boys and girls loved this activity and some of the rockets nearly left our atmosphere! We all had a fantastic day at the Planetarium and can't wait to go back!
