Pack Up Your Troubles
On 13th February, our P3, P4 and LSC classes went to Castleward to take part in their Living History programme called Pack Up Your Troubles. We sang Happy Birthday to one of our P3 friends during our break when we arrived. Then the children explored Castleward in their respective groups.
The children had a fantastic time seeing what life was like at Castleward during the war, exploring the Impact of rationing in the kitchen, packing a suitcase for evacuees in the Nursery and taking part in Dig for Victory planting activities - with each child bringing home their own bean to grow.
Everyone had a super time and the staff at Castleward were full of praise for the children’s lovely manners and excellent behaviour. We at West Winds Primary are very proud of our 3 classes full of wonderful ambassadors for our school.
